The LH Vertical Garden focuses on building a system that thrives year-round, from spring through winter. With detachable outdoor block modules (Garden Block) for easy replacement and repair, and an IoT irrigation system controllable by smartphone, the platform is also equipped with a rail-ladder system, plant-life-cycle-tuned system irrigation, and species selection — all aimed at minimizing maintenance costs.
CEO Park Chang-il of Changjowon, who oversaw the construction and maintenance of the LH Vertical Garden pilot project, stated, "To maintain the four-season green wall residents desire, choosing the right species for the region and providing meticulous care are especially important. We will work to ensure that the LH Vertical Garden becomes a strong precedent that draws public interest in wall greening."
LH plans to install pilot vertical gardens at the daycare and Mom's Cafe in Hwaseong Bongdam 2 Block A2, and at the deck and parking area of Yangju Hoecheon Block A17.
Event Overview — LH Housing Platform Festa
LH (Korea Land & Housing Corporation) announced on the 9th that the 'LH Housing Platform Festa' will be held from the 18th to 20th at KINTEX in Ilsan, Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province. Marking LH's 10th anniversary, the event was planned to present a philosophy and vision for public housing and to showcase the latest technologies, building materials, and design applied to future homes.
Participants include experts from each field — the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the National Architecture Committee, architecture and housing-welfare-related associations and academies, construction firms, and architectural offices — alongside various academic events and exhibitions.
Starting with a 'Public Rental Housing Vision Declaration Ceremony' that presents LH's distinctive value and philosophy through a future public-rental housing model, the program features a forum on 3rd-generation new-town public rental housing, a long-term rental housing residents' evaluation seminar, a smart-home latest-technology sharing conference, and a modular housing promotion symposium. The '2019 LH Housing Awards', selecting the top works in this year's public housing design, will also be exhibited and presented.
